Dozens of leaks in both the city’s water system and at local homes and businesses as a result of last week’s deep freeze prompted city officials to ask local residents this past weekend to conserve water.
When asked if the freezing resulted in breaks to Lamesa’s municipal water lines, city Water Utilities Supervisor Ernest Ogeda responded: “That’s an understatement. We sure did.”
There were 13, in fact.
