Lamesa school board member Kevin Telchik is the first to file to run in the school district’s May 3 election.He filed Friday afternoon in his bid for a second term in office representing District 4.Telchik, a local accountant, won his seat in office in the May 12, 2022 election. He is completing his first term in office. School board members serve three year terms.Ernest Ogeda’s District 5 seat is also on the ballot.Ogeda was appointed onto the board on Feb. 13, 2013 to finish out Tracy Harris’ unexpired term. He was re-elected to office four times.Candidates have until 5 p.m., Feb.
