Statewide property tax reform legislation filed by Representative Dustin Burrows, R-Lubbock, this past Thursday may have no impact on Dawson County’s taxing entities. Burrows filed House Bill 2 that includes legislation dropping the rollback property tax rate to 2.5 percent for any taxing entity that collects more than $15 million in combined ad valorem property and sales taxes.
