“No pass, no play” has been the rule of thumb in Texas high school athletics for a number of years, meaning if a student is not passing they will not be allowed to play games or participate in other extracurricular activities.
For the Lamesa school district this year, the phrase can be updated to include “not present, not playing.”
Lamesa school board members agreed Monday to a recommendation by Superintendent Jim Knight that only students who are physically in attendance at school will be allowed to participate in sports and other activities.
