Personnel teaching socalled “core” subjects in the Klondike school system will be getting a boost in pay as a result of action by the school board Monday evening.During their regular monthly meeting the board agreed to pay a $1,000 stipend for each core class taught by Klondike instructors.Those core classes, Superintendent Steve McLaren said, include social studies, science, math and English.“We’ve given stipends for coaches and ag and all that, but if you’re teaching a core class you haven’t gotten anything (extra),” McLaren told the Press-Reporter.“This will allow them to get an extra $1,000 per class.”Also during the meeting the ...
