Dawson County farmer Val Stephens was elected secretary-treasurer of the Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) this past Monday during the organization’s 86th Annual Meeting in San Antonio.
Stephens has been serving as the District 6 representative on TFB’s 13-member board of directors for the past six years.
He will continue in that position as he takes on the additional role of secretary-treasurer.
“There will be more official duties from Austin to Washington, D.C. and with AFBF (American Farm Bureau Federation) functions,” Stephens said of his new responsibilities.
