Lamesa High School students are outperforming most others in large schools across the West Texas region, according to the accountability ratings announced last week by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
The campus score of 88 – a B in the TEA grading system – is higher than any of the other six high schools Lamesa competes with in football’s District 2-4A.
It also is among the top 20 percent of all schools in the region in UIL enrollment classifications of 3A or higher.
“Clearly, we’re doing some special things at Lamesa High School,” Principal Jerry Jerabek said.
“We’re outperforming a lot of good people.”
