They honored their own Wednesday morning at the Preston E. Smith Prison Unit as they read out the names of Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s (TDCJ) correctional officers and other staff members who died while on the job.The End of Watch roll call includes local prison staff members who succumbed to COVID-19 The Fallen Correctional Officers’ Memorial ceremony brought out law enforcement officials, medical personnel, residents and loved ones to honor those who won’t be forgotten.“We want to remember those people who lost their lives in the line of duty,” said Senior Warden Bryan Williams.TDCJ conducts such ceremonies every May.
