Last week, President Trump signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, designed to protect public health and help individuals, businesses, health care, agriculture and others amidst the COVID-19 epidemic. One initiative in the CARES Act that may be of interest to some is the Paycheck Protection Program, which authorizes up to $349 billion in forgivable loans to small businesses to pay their employees and cover certain other expenses during the COVID19 crisis.
