Sands High School’s (SHS) One Act Play (OAP) drama students advanced from area competition, where they won the championship, Saturday to the University Interscholastic League’s regional contest.They’ll be competing against five other schools from White Deer, Groom, Grady, Guthrie and Happy April 27 in the Frenship Auditorium.Shows begin at 1:30 p.m. with SHS’ performance of “ They Promised Her the Moon” scheduled as the fifth to take the stage.If students earn first or second place there, they’ll advance to the UIL state competition.SHS has never won the state championship, but it has come close.“We’ve never won.
