Search dogs and a state helicopter assisted in the arrest of three individuals who led officers on a highspeed chase Wednesday night that included shots being fired at a pair of Lamesa police vehicles.
No one was injured in the incident but a bullet was later found to have hit one of the Lamesa patrol vehicles, according to Lamesa Police Chief Josh Peterson.
“It went in the driver’s side headlight and lodged in there,” Peterson said.
“I think it was a richochet – not a direct shot,” he added.
