Lamesa police are continuing to investigate a shooting incident Tuesday night which resulted in a local teenager being airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock. The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was in stable condition at last report from the hospital, Acting Police Chief Josh Peterson said Wednesday morning. “He was shot at close range with a 20-gauge shotgun,” Peterson told the Press-Reporter. The blast hit the teenager in his torso, according to Peterson.
