One man is dead and a Lamesa Police Department officer is on administrative leave as Texas Rangers investigate an officer-involved shooting.The fatal shooting occurred around 6:40 p.m., Tuesday at The Villas apartment complex, where the male suspect lived, on S. 8th Street, according to a press release.Officers were there to serve the man with a felony arrest warrant for aggravated assault of a child when the situation escalated.Officers attempted to save the man’s life by performing “life-saving measures.” They were unsuccessful.
