A Lamesa man is dead and another remains hospitalized in Lubbock after shots broke out early Sunday morning during a party at a local residence, according to Lamesa Police Chief Josh Peterson. Jesse Vasquez, Jr., age 21, was pronounced dead at the scene at 511 S. Akron Ave. “He was shot multiple times; we’re not exactly sure how many,” Peterson said Tuesday afternoon.
