The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls from concerned citizens regarding phone calls from someone claiming to be employed by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, or on behalf of the federal government.The callers claim that a debt is owed from during the pandemic and must be paid now or a warrant will be issued for their arrest, according to a sheriff’s office press release.At no time will any employee from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office call any citizen demanding payment of a debt.
