After two years as superintendent of the Dawson school system in Welch, Layne Sheets is leaving to become superintendent of the Jayton-Girard school district at Jayton. After completing a required 21-day waiting period since naming Sheets as their sole finalist for the position, the Jayton-Girard school district officially named Sheets their new superintendent on Tuesday evening.
