People looking to strengthen the Democratic Party’s presence are getting the word out about an upcoming meeting to increase party representation in Lamesa.They are hosting a Democratic Party for Dawson County meeting from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Forrest Park Community Center, 900 S. Houston Ave.Lamesa, much like most of Texas, is staunchly Republican. Its support of the party is so strong that it’s almost impossible to get a Democrat elected to local office.
