Schools in areas where winter weather commonly results in closures usually stick snow days into the academic calendar for just-incase situations. Classes are held on those days only if the school needs to make up for time lost when Mother Nature turns nasty.
Lamesa Independent School District (LISD) doesn’t have snow days. It did allocate 20 days in its calendar which were later used to cover dismissing schools early at noon each Friday.
