Superintendent Jim Knight said he was “happy and sad” with the accounting ratings which the Lamesa school district received Thursday from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
The happy part comes from the Lamesa ISD receiving an overall district-wide rating of B with a grade of numerical grade of 84 out of 100.
That is up by five points from last year and easily puts Lamesa in the upper half when compared to other school districts of similar or larger enrollment across this area.
“I feel good about our district score,” Knight said. “I’m excited about that.”
