Passing grades that don’t match up with results from the state’s required annual examinations and a rise in vaping among students prompted Lamesa school administrators to make some changes Thursday to current grading and tobacco policies.Interim Superintendent Dalia Benavides notified the board about those changes during the board’s regular monthly meeting.The grading and tobacco policies are listed in the Student Handbook.Under previous guidelines, teachers allowed students with failing test results to re-do the work.
