Lamesa school board members could take the next step in the search for a new superintendent when they conduct a special meeting at noon Monday in the district’s central office board room, located at 212 N. Houston.The only item on the agenda is the board’s possible appointment of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) to represent the district in the search.Dalia Benavidez currently is serving as interim superintendent after Jim Knight retired in late September after seven years on the job.A TASB representative recently met with school board members to discuss how the agency helps school districts find superintendents.
