The Class of 2020 saw their senior year end differently than any before them.
In the wake of COVID-19, there were no proms, no required state exams or any activities that would bring them or others together.
In fact, there wasn’t any traditional school statewide. The school year ended in March instead of May amid concerns the virus would spread among students.
Even after being postponed for several weeks, graduation ceremonies were different. For Lamesa’s seniors that included social distancing; in O’Donnell’s case it was a drive-by program where graduates showed up and accepted their diplomas at the practice field.
