Students and staff in the Klondike school system south of Lamesa are continuing to work through the shock and grief of losing a student in a tragic auto accident Wednesday morning.
“Klondike is like one big family, and we’ve all been taking care of each other,” Klondike Superintendent Steve McLaren said Friday.
Services for Colton Kearney are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lamesa.
Colton, son of Quinton and Pam Kearney, was a 16-year-old sophomore at Klondike High School.
He died in a head-on collision with a truck-tractor rig while on his way to school.
