This year’s proposed property tax rate for the Lamesa Independent School District is down just over a cent compared to last year, according to Liz Pogue, the school’s chief financial officier.
She said Tuesday evening the proposed new tax rate is $1.3747 per $100 in property value. That total includes a 32-cent tax rate needed to fund the school’s bonded indebtedness.
By comparison, she said, the school had a total tax rate of $1.3883 last year.
