Enrollment in the Lamesa school system is down and district officials want to know why.The school district saw a decrease by six students within the past month.School Superintendent David Ritchey said it isn’t uncommon for students numbers to drop if their families move outside the district.He told school board members Thursday that he wants to make sure that’s the case.“We’ll keep tracking it,” Ritchey said. “Why did they go and if they are still in Lamesa, let’s bring them back.”The enrollment figures are still up when compared to last year’s enrollment.There were 1,519 students attending the district’s four campuses.
