Lamesa Independent School District (LISD) board members looked at the first draft of the preliminary 2024-2025 budget Tuesday that comes with proposed one to two-percent salary increases, and cuts in materials and supplies with plans for further cuts.So far, the early numbers show the district’s estimated expenditures are $19,457,860, leaving a deficit of $1.5 million.“There’s still some challenges,” said LISD Chief Financial Officer Ron McBee.The district could see $17.9 million in total revenue coming from all revenue sources: $4.6 million in local property taxes, $13.2 million from the state and $160,000 in federal funding.The proposed budget is looking at the ...
