ANDREWS – School trustees on Tuesday approved extending Andrews ISD Superintendent Bobby Azam’s contract through 2024.
The action came following an executive session involving the superintendent’s annual performance evaluation. With the contract extension, the board approved a two-percent pay raise and two-percent annuity match for the superintendent as well.
Azam has served in the local superintendent role for 12 years. He was hired for the position in 2008.
The performance evaluation typically includes discussing goals and direction for the district. Those talks occurred again during Tuesday’s board meeting.
