Sands Consolidated ISD will use a portion of its designated Permanent School Funds to refurbish the school district’s track, following approval of the request by the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday.
Sands Superintendent Wayne Henderson said the track was installed new eight years ago and “it is time to resurface it,” since the school district holds four to five track meets per year and residents walk on the track almost daily.
