Although there was hope early this week that local residents could soon be getting some much-needed haircuts and styling, that is not yet the case.
State officials confirmed Tuesday that no cosmetology salons, barbershops and similar personal-care business are allowed to open under the plan announced Monday by Gov. Greg Abbott.
“Whether a salon or shop is a sole proprietorship or not, they are to remain closed until Executive Order GA-18 is amended or rescinded,” stated a message from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
