Dawson County and the City of Lamesa are both continuing to see increases in their monthly sales tax rebates from the state.The rebates represent local sales taxes collected by merchants and sent to the Texas comptroller’s along with the state sales tax revenue. The local tax revenue is then rebated monthly to the city, county or other entities for which it was collected.The July rebates represent purchases made in May.Dawson County’s rebate of $121,170 is 46.7 percent more when compared to the $82,585 rebate received by the county in July 2021.
