A retirement reception for District Judge Carter T. Schildknecht will be held next Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Dal Paso Museum.
Hosted by the Lamesa Bar Association, the come-and-go event is scheduled for 3-5 p.m.
The public is invited to attend.
Schildknecht will be stepping down from the bench after more than 17 years as judge of the state’s 106th Judicial District, which includes Dawson, Gaines, Garza and Lynn counties.
She initially was appointed to the judge’s post in August of 2001 by then-Governor Rick Perry to fill an unexpired term left by the retirement of longtime Judge George Hansard.
