Dawson County maintained its Republican red in Tuesday’s national and state elections, as local voters replaced an outgoing congressman with another Republican and supported the return of Donald Trump as president. The nationwide outcome of the presidential race was still in limbo as of midmorning Wednesday, but Trump clearly won Texas. The numbers also show that Republican August Pfluger of San Angelo will be taking over the District 11 seat in the U.S. Congress which has been held by Mike Conaway of Midland.
