Although the governor’s Reopen Texas announcement on Monday will allow restaurants to reopen dine-in service beginning Friday, a number of local eateries contacted by the Press-Reporter indicated they do not plan to do so just yet.
Although some restaurants here do plan to begin dine-in service Friday, many said they don’t plan to reopen until rules ease further and they are allowed at least 50 percent of their dining capacity.
The governor’s executive order allows restaurants to operate for dine-in service only up to 25 percent of the total listed occupancy of the restaurant.
