Lamesa City Council members voted 6-1 Tuesday on the second reading of an ordinance establishing a reinvestment zone that could open the door to a future tax abatement for a residential development.
Vista Park Living is a planned residential development that could eventually include some 324 apartments on 12.5 acres of a 28 acre site on N. Ave R.
Council member Doug Morris cast the only dissenting vote against the reinvestment zone. He had also cast the lone opposing vote when the measure was approved by the council on first reading earlier this month.
