The recent heavy rains and flooding exposed a potentially hazardous leak in a small natural gas pipeline about five miles east of Lamesa, according to Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck. The leaking line was discovered Wednesday by county road crews who were surveying roads in that area for repairs needed as a result of a June 26 deluge and subsequent rainfall.
