Lamesa received more than five inches of rainfall overnight from the June 26 storm that pounded Lamesa and the surrounding area.
That and subsequent rainfall has meant an abundance of mosquitoes and, for many people, an overgrowth of weeds to contend with.
It also apparently produced cooler temperatures than normal during the month of July.
