A program to assist grandparents and others who are again serving as the primary caregivers for children is being started here this week as a cooperative effort of the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club and the local Christian Women’s Job Corps.
Planned as a monthly event, the first meeting is slated for 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Boys and Girls Club.
The GAP program, standing for Grandparents Again Parents, is designed as a support group for grandparents – along with aunts, uncles, and others – who find themselves again in the role of a parent for young children.
