The Preston E. Smith state prison unit is looking for a few good men and women to become correctional officers at a facility housing male inmates just east of Lamesa. No prior experience is required. Training is available. The starting salary is $36,000 per year for full-time workers. It also comes with up to $5,000 in recruiting bonuses at eligible units.
