A lockout at all Lamesa school campuses for about an hour on Thursday was a precautionary measure prompted by anonymous information, according to Superintendent Jim Knight.
He said a lockout – in which all students and staff remain inside and the doors are locked – is the school’s lowest-level precaution in response to a possible threat.
“It maybe lasted an hour at the most,” Knight told the Press-Reporter late Thursday afternoon.
“Locking all the doors is not a huge deal.”
He said the action was taken based on information about a potential threat that had been given to the school anonymously.
