The following were among the many calls received recently by the Lamesa Police Department: Tuesday, June 23 12:24 a.m. – Firefighters from Lamesa and Welch were dispatched to a fire in fields near Hwy. 137 and FM 1066. Firefighters requested that Lyntegar Electric Co-op be contacted as well. 12:59 a.m. – Lamesa firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fire in the 300 block of N. Ave. N. 1:03 a.m. – A fire was reported in the 1500 block of N. 2nd St. That proved to be the actual location of the fire that a few minutes earlier was reported on Ave. N.
