Much of Friday night’s football game here between the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes and the Kermit Yellowjackets was played in a light rain, prompting umbrellas to pop open among the small crowd in the stands and the gridders to have a somewhat diffi cult time holding onto the ball. At halftime, however, drops glistening on tubas and other brass instruments added a bit of sparkle to the Golden Tornado Band’s entertaining performance.
