Some 16 years after starting his law enforcement career by serving as a communications officer with the Lamesa Police Department, Josh Peterson is now heading that department. Following completion of an agreement between the City of Lamesa and Dawson County, Peterson was appointed Tuesday by Sheriff Matt Hogg to serve as Lamesa’s acting police chief.
