A total of 148 gambling machines and $15,611 in cash, along with other items including suspected stolen property, were seized by officers with the Lamesa Police Department during a mid-day simultaneous raid on three separate “game room” locations on Monday. Alex Mejia Jr., 36, of Lamesa, was arrested at one of those locations on a warrant issued for parole violation. Mejia just happened to be in one of the locations when officers raided it and ran identity checks on everyone inside, Chief Dale E. Alwan Sr. said. “Officers executed three search warrants in connection with investigations into illegal gambling activity,” Chief Alwan said.
