There is a slight alteration in plans for a parade as part of this weekend’s Juneteenth celebration in Lamesa.Line-up for the parade begins at 9 a.m., Saturday at Hollis Carver Park.The parade was originally supposed to go from the park to Lamesa Middle School. Instead of that route, parade entries will circle around the park.“Everyone will meet at the Hollis Carver Park and the parade will start there and end there,” said Tierra Mack, one of the event’s organizers. “Keep it simple this year; maybe next year.
