Lamesa police were involved in two pursuits of the same vehicle early Sunday morning before eventually arresting the driver of the auto. Police Chief Dale E. Alwan Sr. reported that officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop about 2:48 a.m. after spotting a vehicle being driven recklessly in the 1000 block of N. Dallas Ave. The driver accelerated northbound on the Lubbock highway, with officers initiating a pursuit, according to a memorandum issued by Alwan.
