Although he has moved into the city manager position and resigned his post as executive director of Lamesa’s economic development agencies, Sean Overeynder will continue to oversee those agencies for the time being.
Overeynder, who has served as executive director of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project (LEAP) for almost two years, was hired last week as Lamesa’s new city manager.
On Monday the LEDC and LEAP directors approved Overeynder’s resignation from the economic development position both with much regret and wishes for his success at city manager, according to Scott Leonard, president of the two boards.
