Austin-based Estancia Oil and Gas recently received permits to drill two new oil exploration wells in southwestern Dawson County. The two wells will be located within a mile of each other, roughly 4-5 miles west of Patricia and less than a mile north of Highway 115. Both are vertical drilling operations scheduled for a total depth of 8,500 feet.
