Plans to seal-coat several miles of paved county roads here this year have been cancelled.
County Judge Foy O’Brien announced during Tuesday’s meeting of the Dawson County Commissioners Court that the contractor has not been able to do the work this year as promised.
“The whole project has been put on hold. It’s not just Dawson County backing out,” O’Brien said.
Dawson County was one of a number of counties across the region who had agreed to participate in a seal-coating project coordinated by the Lubbock engineering firm of Parkhill, Smith and Cooper, O’Brien said.
