Teens arrested with stolen auto

An eight-foot-tall wooden carving of Lamesa High School’s Golden Tornado mascot was erected Wednesday morning in front of the high school. Carved from a Douglas Fir tree, the tornado is painted gold and stands on a base carved with the school’s GT emblem. Superintendent Jim Knight said the carving is being dedicated to the graduating class of 2020 and will become a permanent feature at the school.
