Area highway officials are still evaluating the traffic control situation at a new intersection just south of Lamesa that has now been the site of four major collisions – one resulting in a fatality – since it opened about seven weeks ago. One person was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in the latest collision at the “T” intersection of a new segment of State Highway 349 with Highway 87.
